You've hit the nail on the head. The average citizen doesn't want more data. They wouldn't know what to do with it. I can just see my mom looking at a spreadsheet full of numbers - quick grab the Motrin. What these "tech elites" do with this data is the key. I would even go further to say that simple putting the data on a website is not enough. Making data actionable and measuring that action will allow the data to serve a purpose. The work Sunlight is doing is great. I'd also like offer another website that takes this data and is attempting to make it directly actionable for citizens. See www.votetocracy.com Mark-
